Police Search For Teens Who Robbed Elderly Man At Gunpoint
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police in Southfield are asking for the public's help in identifying two teenage suspects who robbed a 74-year-old man at gunpoint.
Investigators say the armed robbery occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 in the victim's driveway on Midway Avenue.
The victim had been shopping at a grocery store on 8 Mile Road prior to the robbery. Investigators believe the suspects followed the victim home from the store and then robbed him of his money, jewelry and keys before fleeing in a vehicle.
According to the victim, two of the three suspects were armed with handguns. The victim was not injured during the incident.
A review of surveillance camera video from the grocery store reveals that two of the suspects were in the grocery store at the same time the victim was. The suspects then followed the victim in their vehicle as he exited the parking lot of the store in his vehicle.
One suspect is described as a 17-year-old black male with brown eyes, long black braided hair, medium complexion and thin build, wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and gym shoes.
The second suspect is described as a 19-year-old black male with brown eyes, short black hair described as shaggy, with a goatee and mustache, wearing a gray long sleeve shirt with a black and red stripe in the chest area, dark jeans and tan boots.
A description for the third suspect is not available. A possible suspect vehicle is described as a two-door, silver Pontiac G6 or similar vehicle.
