Police Search For Man Who Kidnapped, Sexually Assaulted Woman In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are hoping the public can help identify a man who attacked an innocent woman on the city's northwest side.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24 in the area of Livernois Avenue and West 7 Mile Road.

According to police, a woman was exiting her vehicle when she was approached by the suspect, who was armed with a long barrel revolver. The suspect then fired a shot into the air and forced the victim back into her vehicle.

Police say the suspect forced the woman to drive to another location, where the sexually assault took place.

The victim was able to escape a short time later. Police say she was not seriously injured.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, between the ages of 25 and 40, 5'10" to 6' tall and 275 lbs. with a stocky build. He was clean-shaven, wearing a black knit hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black zippered mask and faded blue jeans.
