Police Search For Man Wanted In Teen Sex Assault
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Auburn Hills police are searching for a 35-year-old man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Lt. Casimir Miarka said Darius Stovall met the teenager at a mall, became friends with her, and then took her to his apartment. Miarka said that's where Stovall gave the girl some alcohol and they had sex.
Miarka has a message for sex offenders.
"You're going to get caught. It may not be that day, but we're doing everything we can to stop these types of things from happening ... and you are going to get caught.
"There's no room in our society for this type of crime to be occurring and you know they may think they're getting away with it, but they will be caught," he said.
Miarka said there is now a warrant out for Stovall's arrest, and tips are welcome.
"We have multiple addresses where he could be. We have locations in Pontiac and Detroit and in Jackson, Michigan where we had addresses listed for him. So anybody that has any information on him, if they can just please contact us," he said.
When arrested, Stovall will be charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
