Police Search For Family Of Homeless Man
He was a friend to many, but died alone. In Bloomfield Township, there's a search to find the family of a homeless man, who died last month.
Bloomfield Township Police say 69-year-old Jack Mason died from exposure, and the body was found in his tent, where he had lived for three years.
Lt. Dan Edwards tells WWJ that Mason, who lived in a secluded wooded area near Big Beaver and Kensington roads, was liked by everyone he met.
"He was friends with the person he lived near their property, and they kept an eye on him and talked to him and offered him odd jobs around their place," Edwards said. "He'd also done odd jobs for the church where he was a member."
Lt Edwards says all they know is that Mason graduated from Andover High School in 1956, and may have mentioned he had a sister.
Anyone with information that could help is asked to contact Bloomfield Township Police at (248) 433-7750.
