Police Search For Car That Followed Mother Before Her Shooting Death On I-75
DETROIT (WWJ) - Michigan State Police have released a photo of a vehicle that's believed to have been following a 32-year-old Sterling Heights woman before she was fatally shot in I-75 in February.
Jennifer Ann Scavone, a mother of four, was found slumped over her steering wheel without a pulse around 3:40 a.m. Feb. 9. Investigators say her body was discovered by a MDOT Courtesy Van driver who saw Scavone's bullet-riddled SUV idling on the shoulder of northbound I-75 between Mack and Warren avenues. An autopsy showed she died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say Scavone had just finished working a shift at Bouzouki Lounge in Greektown before she was killed. After reviewing footage captured by security cameras that fateful night, investigators believe they have identified a vehicle that was following Scavone from her place of employment before the shooting took place.
Police are looking for a 2004-2006 Dodge Stratus, gray or silver in color. This vehicle is missing both the front wheel covers and may have damage to the trunk lid and right front quarter panel.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or know the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
