Missing Detroit Girl Found At Friend's House
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say an 11-year-old girl who went missing while walking to school Thursday afternoon was found at her friend's house Friday morning.
Police say Nautaysha Tarver was found around 7:45 a.m. and is in good condition. According to police, she had spent the night at her girlfriend's home.
Hours earlier, police distributed Tarver's photo, saying she was last seen by her younger brother at approximately 3:10 p.m. Thursday in the area of Lappin and Crusade on Detroit's northeast side.
According to police, Tarver apparently told her brother she had to go back to school, located in the 15600 block of E. 7 Mile, to serve detention. Tarver's mother arrived at the school between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m. to pick her up, but she was not there. The frantic mother went inside the school and officials walked through the building, but Tarver was still nowhere to be found.
Family members say while Tarver is in good physical health, she is emotionally impaired and takes medication.
