Police Release Sketch Of Man Who Shot 'Special Needs' Victim In The Back
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for help from the public to identify a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a young man with special needs.
It happened last Sunday, at around 4:20 p.m., in the 14200 block of Fenkell on the city's west side.
According to police, the 24-year-old victim was walking westbound on the sidewalk when the suspect came from across the street, approached him, and shot him in the back.
Police have not discussed a possible motive for the killing.
The suspect is described as a black male, mid-to-late 20s, around 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a slim build and a dark complexion. He was clean-shaven with dark brown eyes and dark hair worn in short dreadlocks or braids, around two to three inches in length on top of his head. His hair was cut short on the sides.
The suspect was wearing a horizontal striped shirt and gray jogging pants and armed with a small-caliber handgun.
A composite sketch was released Friday.
