Police: Only 3 Arrests After Michigan's NCAA Loss
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Police were ready for chaos, but said the night in Ann Arbor wasn't as bad as they had anticipated.
Michigan fans were disappointed after the loss to Louisville, but they didn't take it out on the city. Police said they made three arrests after Michigan's loss Monday night to Louisville in the NCAA Championship game -- two for disorderly conduct and one for drunk driving.
Firefighters battled several small fires during the night -- burning box springs, a desk and a small mattress. Notably, crews were called to extinguished a fire in a parking lot on Kinglsley Street near East University and Michigan Avenue. Another fire, involving wooden pallets, was put out quickly by firefighters.
Police said no one was injured, and no arrests have been made in connection with any of the fires.
