Police On The Lookout For Aggressive Drivers
OAKLAND COUNTY (WWJ) - Drivers beware! Police in Oakland County are cracking down on aggressive drivers.
An enforcement zone was in effect along I-75 from Baldwin Road in Auburn Hills to 14 Mile Road in Troy on Tuesday. The goal is to reduce crashes and aggressive driving.
Members of the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) - which includes officers from Auburn Hills, Troy, and Bloomfield Township police departments - were on the lookout for driving violations that include speeding, following too closely and improper lane changes. Which are all examples of road rage-type behavior.
The SOCCIT team will use funds from a $5,000 grant, awarded in February, to cover the cost of this enforcement detail.
