Police: Mom Fibbed About Abuse
A Macomb Township mother could be in hot water for telling police and local media lies about her husband leaving their 14-month-old baby alone in a vehicle for hours.
This mom said she'd discovered her baby at a mobile home park all alone inside the family's mini-van on Saturday.
Apparently, she wasn't telling the whole truth, and Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel tells WWJ she could soon be facing charges for fabricating the story.
"Bottom line is -- we don't think the mother was being very truthful. Unfortunately, that was reported by another news station by talking to the mother. But there are a lot of discrepancies in her story," Hackel said.
Hackel said his detectives are continuing the investigation. Child abuse charges against the husband have been dropped.
