Police: Man Sent Nude Photos To Young Girls On Facebook
CANTON (WWJ) - A Wayne County man is being held on a quarter of a million dollars bond on charges that he sent nude photos of himself to at least two young girls through Facebook and texts.
Officers from the FBI, Macomb County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police and Canton Police Department arrested 32-year-old Taylor Best at his home in Canton on Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Office said their investigation began after receiving a complaint from the parent of a 16-year-old girl from Washington Township, indicating the girl had received nude photos from Best and unwanted contact.
Investigators say Best posed online as a 20-year-old man named "John Simmons" and contacted the teenager through Facebook and texting.
Macomb Area Computer Enforcement team investigators were also able to identify a second female victim, age 13 from Bruce Township, who Best contacted. With this victim, Best wanted her to send him nude photos of herself and if she did not comply, he threatened to tell her parents.
Police believe Best may have had contact with additional teenagers from the area and are continuing an investigation.
Best faces a long list of felonies, including using a computer to commit a crime, distributing sexually explicit material to children and extortion. He faces several years in prison if convicted.
