Police: Home Robbed While Owners At Church
MONROE (WWJ) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion that took place in broad daylight.
Police say the incident happened the morning of August 7, while the elderly home owners were at church in Monroe County.
The thief was able to make off with a 60 inch flat screen tv along with a purse. Police say the purse was recovered on Lewis Ave. near the stateline, but not before the crook tried to use credit cards at a PNC bank nearby.
Investigators were able to obtain images from the bank's security cameras, and are now asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Police say it looks like a possible female in the passanger seat of a four-door White Mercury Mountaineer, which appears to have Michigan plates.
If anyone recognizes this person or or vehicle, contact Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 734-240-7401 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
