Police: Man Killed At Highland Park Gas Station
HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) - Police in Highland Park are investigating an apparent murder at a gas station.
WWJ's Vickie Thomas was live and local at the Citgo gas station on Hamilton and Glendale in Highland Park where police blocked off the crime scene with "Caution: Men Working" tape.
Highland Park Deputy Police Chief did confirm to WWJ that they are investigating a homicide, although no details on the victim were released.
Sources tell Thomas that the overnight station attendant, who is reportedly from Yemen, was killed during a possible robbery.
Gas station employees say the suspect made off with an unspecified amount of cash and that the entire incident was captured by surveillance cameras.
Officers wouldn't say if anyone has been arrested in the case or if they have a suspect.
The gas station has since reopened.
