Police: Man Drives On Sidewalk, Then Into Building
DETROIT (WWJ) - A man crashed his car into a vacant building on Detroit's west side Sunday afternoon. Police say the man was seen driving his car on a sidewalk before the incident on Grand River near I-96.
The impact of the crash left debris covering the car and trapping the man inside.
Rescue crews were able to get the man out of his car. He was responsive and taken to the hospital.
There is no word on the man's condition.
Police say, however, the car is still lodged in the building because they fear it struck a beam. They are worried that if the car gets pulled out, the structure will collapse.
