Police Investigate Deadly Shooting At Mobile Home Park
CASCO TWP. (WWJ) - Police in St. Clair County are investigating what appears to be a homicide at a mobile home park.
Sheriff Tim Donnellon said the situation unfolded around 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Americana Estates Mobile Home Park near 26 Mile and County Line Road, not far from I-94 in Casco Township.
Deputies initially responded to a call about a disturbance outside of a home, and learned that a shooting had occurred while on their way to the park.
When deputies arrived, a 43-year-old man was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 52-year-old man was arrested without incident.
According to police, the two men began arguing when the older man pulled out a handgun and opened fire. Both men live in the park, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
