Police Investigate Gunshots That Hit Grand Rapids Firehouse

GRAND RAPIDS (AP) — Authorities in Grand Rapids are investigating shots that struck the city's main firehouse.

Police say Friday that three "projectiles" hit the building.

Fire Chief Laura Knapp tells WOOD-TV that "there's no indication that the LaGrave Street fire station was targeted or firefighters are being targeted."

Two of the slugs struck separate bay doors at the building. A shot also hit a second-story window. The damage was discovered Wednesday morning.

Officers responded late Tuesday night to reports of gunfire in the area and found three shell casings. A witness said shots were fired during a confrontation involving a group of men.
