Police Investigate Double Stabbing In Garden City
GARDEN CITY (WWJ) - Police are investigating a double stabbing in Garden City. It happened on Bock Street, near Henry Ruff and Ford Road, early Tuesday morning.
According to the Garden City Police Chief Robert Muery, police received a complaint around 3:00 am Tuesday about screaming and a loud party on Bock street, near Middlebelt road. When officers arrived on the scene, they didn't see anything out of the ordinary and left the residence.
Then, police received a call from a local hospital that said two 17-year-olds had been admitted with stab wounds after being dropped off at the hospital.
"It appears there was a party taking place, there was some party crashers, a fight ensued and two 17-year-old Garden City residents were the victims of a stabbing," Muery said.
Police are now looking for a Redford Township resident who is believed to be involved.
"We're in the very preliminary stages of the investigation at this point. We've got some uncooperative witnesses. One victim has already been released from the hospital, the other one remains there, and we're looking for an 18-year-old Redford man for questioning in the incident," the Police Chief said.
Muery said about 10 people were at the backyard party where alcohol was being consumed, all of them under 21-years-old.
