Police Investigate Domestic Assault With Pineapple
ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a 42-year-old Ann Arbor man apparently knocked his wife unconscious with a pineapple during a fight at their home.
AnnArbor.com reports officers responded just after 11 p.m. Friday to University of Michigan Hospital on Friday night after staff notified them of the 32-year-old woman's injury.
It wasn't known exactly when the woman was hit or what prompted the fight. Police say the woman didn't cooperate beyond giving them basic information.
Police say they found evidence of a fight at the couple's home on Braeburn Circle. It wasn't known what time the assault may have occured.
The Washtenaw County prosecutor's office was being asked to review a request from police for an arrest warrant for the 42-year-old man.
Police didn't know if there was a history of domestic abuse. No names have been released.
