Police Investigate 2 Crashes, One Fatal, In Canton
CANTON (WWJ) - Police in Canton are investigating two separate accidents -- one of them fatal.
Early Wednesday morning, emergency crews were called to a single car accident in the parking lot of the Windsor Woods apartments near Warren and Morton-Taylor Roads.
The 55-year-old driver was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Just about two hours later, police arrived at a crash on Michigan Avenue, just west of Canton Center Road, where a car collided with a semi truck. A 53-year-old Belleville woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver was treated and released.
The circumstances leading up to both crashes remained under investigation later Tuesday. Police said alcohol does not appear to be a
factor in either accident.
No names have been released.
