Police Hunt Rapist With Dog Bumper Sticker

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police have a good clue as they search for a suspected rapist.

Investigators say a 35-year-old woman was walking Sunday morning along Belton Street, near Tireman and the Southfield Freeway, when the suspect pulled up in a Ford Windstar and asked her for directions. Police said he then forced her into the van and raped her.

Police say the van had a bumper sticker that said "I love my greyhound" or "I love my great dane."

The victim was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as black male, 38-42 years old, 6'-1", medium complexion, small build, wearing a gray cap, gray sweat pants and a red sweat jacket.

Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to call the Sex Crimes Unit at (313) 596-1950.
