Police: Gang Members Arrested In Oakland County Drug Ring
PONTIAC (WWJ) - Police say four gang members arrested in Oakland County have been indicted on federal drug charges as investigators continue to look for two additional gang members in the case.
On April 12, officers with the Oakland County Violent Gang Task Force apprehended Anthony Smith, Sean Stalker, Bruce O'Neal and Joshua Vanriette. Two others, Jose Montalvo Jr. and Jeffrey James Morway, remain wanted for arrest. The FBI did not provide hometowns or ages.
Investigators say the group operated a "violent drug-trafficking ring" in Oakland County, mainly in Pontiac.
"One of the most important parts of our job is to remove dangerous and violent criminals from the streets. I thank our partners and our staff for their dedication in making this happen," Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement.
According to the FBI, a federal grand jury indictment has charged five of the suspects with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, and unlawful use of a communication facility. Two other suspects were indicted on felon in possession of a firearm charges. It wasn't immediately clear who was charged with what.
