Couple Found Dead After Apparent Murder-Suicide; Friend Called Police About 'Concerning' Facebook Post
NOVI (WWJ) -- A Novi couple is dead after what police believe was a murder-suicide. A friend of one of the victims allegedly saw a worrisome post on Facebook and contacted police.
Sgt. John Nelson says the couple was found dead of gunshot wounds on Friday in a unit at The Springs apartment complex near Beck Rd. and Pontiac Trail.
"[The friend] received a Facebook post, or saw a Facebook post of some type that lead him to be concerned about his high school friend," Nelson said. "The officers were sent up there, they were unable to make contact with anybody at the door of the residence."
Police, with the help of management, found the bodies of the 40-year-old man and 36-year-old woman.
The couple lived alone and had no children. An investigation is ongoing.
