Police: Father Drove Drunk With Kids In Car
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac father is facing drunk driving and child endangerment charges after sideswiping an Oakland County Sheriff's Department vehicle early Saturday morning.
UPDATE : Webster has been released pending blood test results expected in two weeks.
The report will be sent to the prosecutor's office when the results are returned.
The Sheriff's Department says 43-year old Robert J. Webster hit the patrol car just before 2 a.m. Saturday on Saginaw Street near Kemp. The Oakland County Sheriff's Department vehicle was acting as a backup to another deputy when the accident happened.
Webster kept going after hitting the car, but was stopped a short distance away. A report from the Sheriff's Department says Webster had a preliminary blood alcohol level of .346, that is four times the legal limit.
Investigators say Webster had three children in the vehicle with him. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated second offense and child endangerment. The children were released to their mother. Child Protective Services will be looking into the case.
No injuries were reported.
