Police: Fatal Crash Result Of Facebook Tiff

Pontiac Police are asking the Prosecutor to file second degree murder charges against the driver who they claim deliberately caused a fatal accident over a fight on Facebook.

Police said the woman deliberately rammed the car of 21-year-old Alesha Abernathy Wednesday, causing a crash that left Abernathy dead and a passenger in her car critically injured.

"Abernathy attempted to evade her by driving away but the responsible female began rammer her vehicle several times into Abernathy's while they were transit," Police said in a release.

"As they approached the intersection of Woodward and Rapid St., this is when Abernathy's vehicle collided with a large dump truck within the intersection causing it to turn/flip over on its driver side," Police said.

Police said that passenger, Danielle Booth, had recently filed a harassment report against the suspect resulting from the Facebook conflict.

The suspect could also face charges of child abuse, because she had three-year-old child in the car.

Neither the child nor the driver were injured.

The driver was expected to be Friday morning in the 50th District Court.
