Police: Ex-Miss USA Was At 2-Times The Legal Limit
HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ/AP) - A police report says former Miss USA Rima Fakih was driving with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when she was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Highland Park this past weekend.
The report obtained by The Associated Press says the 26-year-old from Dearborn was pulled over early Saturday speeding and weaving in traffic.
The report says she "immediately identified herself as Miss USA" and a half-full wine bottle was found on the floorboard behind the driver's seat.
The 26-year-old Dearborn resident was jailed early Saturday morning but has since been released.
She won the Miss USA title in 2010 – the first Arab American winner of the pageant.
Speaking to WWJ Newsradio 950, Fakih's attorney, Doraid Elder, said his client is "remorseful about what happened." (Read more, here).
