Police: Deli Owner Shoots Man During Apparent Hold-Up; Suspect In Serious Condition

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 22-year-old man is hospitalized after he was shot by a deli owner during an apparent hold up.

Police say the suspect jumped over the counter at Teenie's Deli on Seven Mile shortly before 4 p.m.

The women behind the counter called for her husband, 75-year-old Johnnie Christopher, who fired several shots.

The suspect is being treated at the hospital and is in serious condition.

It's unclear if any charges will be filed in the case.
