Police Chase Ends In Deadly Shooting
A wild scene overnight -- where a police chase ends in a deadly shooting on the southbound Lodge Freeway in Southfield.
Police tell WWJ's Mike Campbell there was a pursuit that started in another jurisdiction west of Southfield and that it ended along the freeway between 9 and 10 Mile roads. They say the suspect got out of the vehicle they were chasing him in and started to flee. He was running away and shots were exchanged. The suspect was taken to a hospital and has since died. He's described as a 34-year-old man and that is as much as is known at this time.
WWJ is working to get more information, including what happened, why the chase started in the first place, and what brought the suspect to Southfield and, ultimately, his death.
