Police Bust Teen Growing Pot In His Bedroom
TROY (WWJ) - Troy police say a teen had a marijuana growing operation in his bedroom -- and his parents didn't know.
Acting on a tip, officers went to the home on Villa Park where they found five marijuana plants, grow lights, plant food and fertilizer, a jar with marijuana in it and other drug paraphernalia in the 17-year old's bedroom closet.
Police said the parents claim they didn't notice the strong odor of marijuana and were not aware of a large fan on in the bedroom and bright lights in the closet.
The parents had given police permission to search the house.
There was no immediate word on any charges. An investigation is ongoing.
