Police Believe Novi Deaths Result Of Murder-Suicide
NOVI (WWJ) - Results of autopsies on a Novi couple who died in an apparent murder-suicide have been released.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner reports 55-year old Lisa Anne Christensen died of a gunshot wound. It's believed to have been inflicted by her husband — 59 year old Gunar Donald Christensen, who then fatally shot himself.
Novi police discovered the Christensen's during a welfare check at their home, on Porter Street in the area of 9 Mile and Taft roads, at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
According to friends and family members interviewed by police, the couple was going through a divorce.
Although police believe it's a clear case of domestic violence, an investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Northville Crime Lab.
