Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Robbed Meijer, Sunoco
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Auburn Hills police say they've arrested a 50-year-old Pontiac man wanted in the robberies of a local Meijer store and Sunoco gas station.
Karl William Reiche is facing charges of un-armed robbery and strong-armed robbery, both a 15-year felony.
Police say officers stopped a vehicle on Wednesday that matched the description of a vehicle involved in an un-armed robbery on Sept. 30 at the Meijer store on Adams Road at Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills. Police determined that Reiche was using the vehicle.
Investigators say the vehicle was also seen leaving the scene of a strong-armed robbery which occurred on September 28 at a Sunoco Gas Station in Rochester Hills, and believe Reiche is responsible.
"Once again, I am so pleased with the work of my deputies in investigating violent crimes, finding the perpetrator and taking them off the street in such a quick timeline. It sends a message to criminals; we will find you and you will pay the price." Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement. "I also wish to thank the Auburn Hills Police Department for their excellent police work on this case."
Reiche was ordered held on a $100,000 bond. He's due back in court on Oct. 16.
