Police Arrest Man Wanted In Several Oakland County Robberies
TROY (WWJ) - A man suspected in several robberies in Oakland County was finally caught after breaking into a condominium in Birmingham.
Lucious Anthony Brinson, a 27-year-old Detroit resident, was arraigned last Saturday on charges of second degree home invasion, possession of breaking and entering tools, and possession of marijuana. Brinson was released from the Oakland County Jail on Monday after posting 10 percent of a $25,000 bond.
On Friday, April 19, Troy police were following Brinson -- a known home invasion suspect -- who had been observed driving in and out of Troy and Birmingham apartment complexes on a previous date.
Investigators say the officers watched as Brinson drove into a gated condominium complex in the 1100 block of North Old Woodward, just south of Big Beaver Road in Birmingham. A short time later, the officers observed Brinson breaking into someone's home.
When police went to apprehend Brinson, he briefly fled on foot. After a short pursuit, the officers caught up to Brinson and placed him under arrest.
Police say several stolen items were recovered from Brinson's vehicle, along with an unspecified amount of marijuana.
