Plane From Lake Erie Crash Recovered
Investigators have brought up the small plane that went into Lake Erie on Friday with four people on board. All survived with no serious injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration says it could be ``a considerable amount of time'' before it's clear why the 1977 Cessna lost power as it approached a small airfield on Ohio's South Bass Island. Sixty-one-year-old owner and pilot Mark Neal of Westland, Mich., told his wife the plane's engine failed.
The aircraft came to rest 22 feet underwater just off the island, which is halfway between Toledo and Cleveland. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the plane was recovered on Monday.
Neal and his three passengers, who also were from Michigan, were rescued by a ferry boat.
