Pistons Reportedly Still Shopping For Guard

Even after obtaining Tobias Harris Tuesday in a trade with Orlando, the Pistons might not be done yet.

According to Yahoo, Detroit is still shopping around for a backup point guard, after unloading Brandon Jennings to the Magic (with forward Ersan Ilyasova). As it stands, Reggie Jackson's backup is 35-year-old Steve Blake. Blake has had a solid season, especially for his age, but the Pistons would probably be able to sleep easier knowing they had more depth at the position.

Pistons general manager Jeff Bower confirmed in a conference call Tuesday that the team might not be finished yet. The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. (ET).

"We'll continue to investigate things and continue to talk to teams and continue discussions that we've had in other areas, absolutely," he said. "But having said that, this team has played well at times when Steve Blake has been manning the majority of minutes and Stan (Van Gundy) has a great deal of confidence in not only his abilities but his poise and experience, and that can play an even bigger role down the stretch."

Rumors have abounded about which backup point guards throughout the league could be on the trading block. Some have indicated DJ Augustin could make a return to Detroit (he's in Oklahoma City now). Augustin played for the Pistons during part of the 2014-15 season, starting in 13 games (playing in 54) and averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 assists a game.

Another name that has popped up is Jameer Nelson's. The guard is averaging 7.9 points and five assists in 38 games for the Nuggets, with 15 starts this year.

Jeff Teague (Hawks), Michael Carter-Williams (Bucks) and Jose Calderon (Knicks) have all been rumored to be on the trading block before the deadline.
