Pistons Report: Notes, Quotes

--The Pistons had 29 assists against Washington, one shy of their season high. They racked up 30 against Toronto Dec. 11. Their shooting guard combo of Ben Gordon and Richard Hamilton made the extra pass, combining for 10 assists.

"The past couple of games, we've been moving the ball pretty well," forward Charlie Villanueva said. "I think that has definitely benefited us. I think a couple days of practice that we had also helped."

--Tracy McGrady appears to be the biggest loser from the Philadelphia shoot-around controversy that made national headlines. McGrady has not played since the incident, even though he was one of the players who was supposedly excused from that infamous shoot-around with a headache. McGrady has been healthy enough to play the last three games but hasn't left the bench.

"Tracy worked hard (in practice) but we had a lot of guys work hard," head coach John Kuester said. "It's a numbers game. We've got a number of people at one, two and three (guard and small forward positions). No one has separated themselves."

QUOTE TO NOTE
"Whenever you're coming back from an injury, the first game you're kind of nervous. You try to push through to see how much you can really go because practice is not the same thing." -- Forward Tayshaun Prince, after scoring 20 points against Washington Sunday. He had missed four consecutive games with a back injury.
