Pistons Report: Notes, Quotes
--Pistons coach John Kuester used an old-school approach Wednesday. He started his four oldest players -- Ben Wallace, Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Tracy McGrady -- in his 18th lineup this season. Kuester rewarded them for outworking their younger teammates. Wallace played for the first time in nine games after the death of his brother.
"Our veterans worked awfully hard these last two practices," Kuester said. "They've had a history of not going as hard as they did the last couple of days, so I was very pleased."
He was even more pleased after the game.
"That veteran group did a great job of setting the tone," he said.
Wallace finished with six points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes.
--Denver established franchise records by an opponent in every 3-point category against the Pistons on Saturday night. Along with Pistons surrendering the most 3-pointers they've ever given up (18), they also allowed guard J.R. Smith to make an opponent-record nine 3-pointers. He set opponent records for most 3-point makes in a half (eight) and a quarter (seven). Denver also attempted the most 3-pointers in a game (37), half (23) and quarter (18), and made the most in a half (12) and quarter (eight). The Nuggets won 131-101.
