Pistons Career Fair
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Looking to get into sports and entertainment? The Detroit Pistons may be able to help.
The team is holding its 11th Annual Career Fair from 1pm to 4pm Friday, bringing together leaders in the areas of professional sports, college athletics, minor league sports, broadcasting companies and other businesses. In addition to the Pistons, the list of participating companies includes the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Greektown Casino and more.
"We're looking to have approximately 40 companies, firms on site that will be participating in the Career Fair," said Jeff Corey, a spokesman for Palace Sports and Entertainment. "Not only our organization, but there's other professional teams - both locally and ... throughout the midwest, and some colleges ... some minor league sports teams and then there's, again, TV stations that are expected to be on hand."
In addition to the Career Fair, there will be an Executive Panel Q&A session featuring some of the top decision-makers from Palace Sports & Entertainment. Panel members will speak about their career paths and provide advice on getting into sports and entertainment.
Admission to the Career Fair is $10 for the event alone, or $15, which also includes a ticket to the Detroit Pistons vs. New Jersey Nets game beginning at 7:30pm tonight. Admission to the game, Career Fair and Executive Panel Q&A session is $20.
