Piston Lose To Wizards 98-77
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ/AP) - The Detroit Pistons fail to show up in the 2nd half - losing to the Washington Wizards 98-77 on Sunday night.
The Pistons went into the second half of the game tied at 45 but lost momentum and the Wizards took a 62-61 lead late in the third quarter on John Wall's first points of the game. Two straight Detroit turnovers let Washington quickly build the lead to five, and it was 74-63 by the end of the quarter.
Greg Monroe had a game-high 27 points for the Pistons, Rodney Stuckey had 11 pts., Tayshaun Prince added 10 pts. and six rebounds for the night.
Detroit entered on a season-best four-game winning streak, but saw it end when the Wizards went on a 22-2 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters.
Wall ended the night with 14 points for the Wizards, JaVale McGee had 22 points and eight rebounds.
