Pickup Driver Crosses Line, Kills 2 Sisters
SAGINAW TWP. (WWJ/AP) - Saginaw-area police say a man driving a pickup truck crossed a center line and struck two other vehicles, killing two sisters and causing at least three other injuries.
The crash happened about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Saginaw County's Saginaw Township, according to a media release.
Township police Chief Don Pussehl said a 45-year-old Saginaw man was driving a Chevy pickup that hit a car driven by 63-year-old Patricia Aldrich.
The chief said the crash injured Aldrich and killed her two sisters, 63-year-old Carol Lyle and 67-year-old Judith Kelly, who were passengers in he car. Both lived in Bridgeport.
Pussehl said the pickup driver and a 69-year-old woman in an SUV also were hurt, but he described their injuries as non-life threatening.
Gratiot was shut down in that area for several hours following the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
