Person Of Interest Arrested In Nursing Student Murder
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police say they've made an arrest in the weekend murder of a local nursing student.
Wednesday night, police arrested someone they are calling a person of interest in the investigation of the death of 21-year-old Claudia Benson. They say a tip led them to the suspect who was identified through surveillance video from a nearby business.
Benson studied nursing at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn. Her family says she had just finalized her college class schedule last week, so she went out to celebrate with friends.
She was robbed and shot at about 12:10am, Saturday, outside of the Blackberry Bar and Grill on Detroit's westside. Benson later died from her injuries.
