Pennsylvania Prisoner Pleads Guilty To 2004 Michigan Murder
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ/AP) - A prisoner in Pennsylvania has pleaded guilty to a decade-old murder in Michigan.
Walter Antraell Wilson told police last week he killed Robert Anthony Farmer in 2004. The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Kent County court this week.
Police say Farmer was leaving a party story in Grand Rapids when he was shot during an attempted robbery. He died soon after.
Detectives used DNA evidence, tips and witness statements to eventually link the crime to Wilson.
Wilson is in federal prison serving a minimum of 15 years for possession of illegal weapons in a 2007 case. He faces a minimum sentence of 25 years for Farmer's death because of his record. Sentencing is Aug. 13.
