Pat Caputo:Game 7 Sure To Be Another Close One
It's difficult to tell, honestly, whether the odds are in the Red Wings' favor entering Game 7.
The location, San Jose, suggests they are not. As crazy as it was Tuesday night at Joe Louis Arena, it will be just as maddening during Game 7 — and the crowd won't be slanted toward the Red Wings.
The skill level appears even. The Sharks are formidable. Their victories over Detroit in the first three games of this Western Conference semifinal series were not a fluke.
In the last three regular seasons, San Jose has been the top-seed out of the Western Conference twice, the No. 2 seed once. The Sharks finished ahead of the Red Wings each time, and knocked them out of the Stanley Cup playoffs last spring in this very round.
