Pat Caputo: The Lions Need To Clean Up In This Week's NFL Draft
As the NFL Draft approaches Thursday, under the most unusual circumstances ever because of a labor stoppage, the Lions are nonetheless faced with decisions that will set their course for years to come.
But especially for this season.
The Lions have screaming needs at outside linebacker and in the secondary, particularly at cornerback. They hold the 13th overall selection in the draft.
Yet, it appears unlikely a cornerback or outside linebacker worthy of the 13th overall selection will fall into their lap.
This is a draft of great depth along the defensive line. It is the Lions' one and only position of a great strength, however.
