Armageddon will be avoided. The NFL is going to be back in business sooner rather than later.
When all is said and done, and the new labor deal between the NFL and its players association is ratified by all involved — and it will happen — it won't be long before the angst of the last several months will be forgotten.
And that's a very good thing for sports and its fans, particularly those of us who are enamored with football, especially the brand played in the NFL.
The NFL is the king of sports, a $9 billion business annually, which only adds to the landscape of American culture, in addition to its economy.
Missing the off season was not welcome for the league's ardent fans, but not that big a deal to most.
It would have been if it had gone any longer.
