That's a fair question to ask following Michigan State's 42-39 loss to Wisconsin Saturday night in the first Big Ten championship game.
The Spartans had beaten Wisconsin earlier this season. Last year, too.
There was no super power in the Big Ten in 2011. The conference was down this season, and this was one of the stronger versions of the Spartans, featuring a solid senior quarterback in Kirk Cousins and a top defensive line.
