I've heard a number of times, from those close to Oakland County high school football programs, that Carr took it for granted that the best players from this state were going to Michigan, and that Rodriguez was downright inattentive, other than focusing on recruiting priority walk-ons.

"Michigan recruits nationally and Michigan high school football is mediocre. Doesn't matter,'' was their battle cry. They were wrong.
