Pat Caputo: Great Setting, Better Victory For Hoke, Robinson and Wolverines

There will be skeptics who dismiss Michigan's 35-31 victory over Notre Dame Saturday night.

It was only Notre Dame. And everybody beats Notre Dame. Even Rich Rodriguez won his last two encounters with the Fighting Irish.

There will be fingers pointed at Michigan's defense, which at times was remarkably porous. Notre Dame had 513 yards in total offense.

There will be questions about Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson's passing. He completed less than 50 percent of his passes and was intercepted three times.
