Pat Caputo: Can Tiger Woods Make Up For Lost Time At The Masters?

The last time we saw Tiger Woods around these parts, he was as heralded as an athlete can possibly be.

He shot 20-under par at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc to win the 2009 Buick Open.

Woods was at the height of not only his golf game, but his popularity. He was hailed for showing up and playing, even though Buick had recently dropped him as an endorser because of the meltdown in the domestic automobile industry.

There have long been charges that Woods is less than congenial to his fans, but that was never evident at the Buick Open. He embraced the crazies around the par-3 17th green at Warwick Hills. He never turned his nose up at what had to be the easiest layout on the PGA Tour.
