Campers Evacuated, Parts Of Tahquamenon Falls Park Closed Due To Fire
PARADISE (WWJ/AP) - On one of the busiest camping holidays of the year, a popular Up North destination is being evacuated because of an approaching wildfire.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources have closed sections of Tahquamenon Falls State Park in the Upper Peninsula. The park's Lower Falls campground and Upper Falls viewing area are off-limits and visitors are being evacuated.

Park staffers have notified more than 100 campers. Some have canceled their reservations. Others have relocated from the Lower Falls campground to the Rivermouth campground or to Muskallonge Lake State Park.
Officials urged visitors to avoid the Tahquamenon Falls area during the Memorial Day weekend.
The Duck Lake Fire has burned at least 20,000 acres in Luce County.
