Parts Of Park Remain Closed
Two days after tornadoes hit Macomb County, parts of Stony Creek Metropark remain closed.
The disc golf course, mountain bike trails, and two picnic areas and several buildings were closed today. Park officials say the Gladeview and Oakgrove picnic areas are closed. The bathhouse at Baypoint Beach, along with restroom facilities on the west side of the park are closed. Restrooms on the east side of the park are open without power. The nature center was still without power late Saturday afternoon.
At least 100 trees were damaged throughout the park and cleanup efforts are ongoing.
A special family rustic camping weekend at Stony Creek was cancelled.
