Parties Run 1st TV Ads In Mich. Gov. Race
Rick Snyder is the star and the villain in new Michigan ads.
The Republican Governors Association began airing a television ad Thursday that praises the GOP gubernatorial candidate for creating "thousands of jobs.''
The Michigan Democratic Party launched its own ad Thursday accusing Snyder and others at computer maker Gateway Inc. of outsourcing thousands of U.S. jobs.
Snyder added 10,000 jobs at Gateway while he was an executive there. After he stepped down but remained on the board, many of Gateway's manufacturing operations were moved to Mexico and overseas. He says he didn't have a say in that decision.
The Democratic ad doesn't mention Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, who's running against the Ann Arbor businessman.
